Documentary, technology, portrait photographer

I spent my early years in journalism unsure if I wanted to be a reporter or photojournalist. I decided to compromise and be both, and as a result I have always shot my own photos and videos. My photographs have appeared in Wirecutter, Backchannel, Gigaom and more.

My equipment: Canon 5D Mark II | Canon 24-105 mm f/4 L | Canon 70-200 mm f/4 L | Tamron 90 mm f/2.8 macro

Movers & shakers

Every week, I meet some of the most interesting people on the planet; from founders putting the largest-ever fleet of satellites into space to engineers building the next generation of virtual reality headsets.

From Baxter to BattleBots, I meet a lot of robots brimming with personality.

Since the first time I printed an object on a 3D printer, I have been infatuated with the maker movement. The individuals and wacky creations that make up the community have totally changed my perception of what is possible.

3D printing

3D printing is almost too easy to photograph. The community is overwhelmingly friendly and dedicated to telling the world about its emerging craft.
